Designing OpenUp’s first e-learning strategy to support thousands of employees across Europe

When I joined OpenUp as the first E-learning Specialist, I wasn’t handed a roadmap. Instead, I was given a mission: “Help people take care of their minds at work.” So I rolled up my sleeves and started building a digital learning experience that felt personal, helpful, and human.
"Let’s make it simple, but meaningful."
Step 1: Defining the Vision
To begin, I listened — to clients, employees, psychologists. Their stories and struggles shaped our approach. From these conversations, I mapped out a strategy rooted in real challenges like stress, burnout, emotional regulation, and team communication.
Step 2: Creating the Learning Experience
I led the content design — scripting videos, building interactive modules, and curating audio meditations. Every element was shaped by learning science and infused with empathy, aiming to help people pause, reflect, and feel supported.
"Let’s build something that grows with us."
Step 3: Setting Up the Infrastructure
We selected and implemented a Learning Management System (LMS) that matched our needs — easy to navigate, scalable, and flexible. I also built workflows for content delivery, learner feedback, and performance tracking.
"If we want people to care, we need to meet them where they are."
Step 4: Driving Engagement
From onboarding email series to targeted campaigns, I worked to ensure our learning content didn’t get lost in the noise. We made the content approachable — not another task, but a resource people actually wanted to use.
Step 5: Learning and Improving
Using built-in analytics, I tracked what resonated (and what didn’t). Open rates, satisfaction scores, completion rates — they weren’t just numbers, they were signals that helped us tweak and improve.
This wasn’t just a strategy. It was a shift in how employees relate to their mental health at work. And being part of that journey — helping shape a more caring, resilient workplace — is something I’ll always be proud of.
